In recognition of their outstanding performance at the 2026 International Debate Championship held in Rwanda, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba State, has rewarded the victorious students with a cash award of Five Million Naira (₦5,000,000) each. Following their remarkable achievement, which brought honour not only to Taraba State but also to Nigeria, Governor Kefas hosted the students to an intimate dinner at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, where he celebrated their excellence and commended their dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic distinction. In further demonstration of his unwavering commitment to educational advancement under the Moving Forward Agenda, the Governor presented the students with the cash rewards through the Executive Chairperson of the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB), Hon. Mrs. Christiana Binga. The presentation took place at the Board's headquarters in the presence of board members, directors, and the UBEC State Coordinator. The reward underscores the Governor's determination to promote excellence in education and inspire young people across the state to strive for academic success on both national and international platforms. Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Heman Shawulu expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his unwavering support, which made their participation in the championship possible.
